About MONOFERRIC® Infusion Therapy
Monoferric® (ferric derisomaltose) is an FDA-approved intravenous (IV) iron replacement product indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in adult patients who have an intolerance to oral iron, an unsatisfactory response to oral iron, or non-hemodialysis dependent chronic kidney disease.

Conditions treated by this therapy
Monoferric® (ferric derisomaltose) is an FDA-approved intravenous (IV) iron replacement product indicated for adult patients with:
- Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA): For adults who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements or have had an unsatisfactory clinical response to them.
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): Specifically for adult patients with non-hemodialysis dependent chronic kidney disease experiencing iron deficiency anemia.

What to Expect During MONOFERRIC® Infusion Therapy
When you arrive at our West Bloomfield location, you'll experience our private, welcoming atmosphere designed with your comfort and discretion in mind. Our experienced team will:
- Review your current health status and medical history
- Check your vital signs prior to treatment
- Place a comfortable IV in your arm to administer Monoferric
- Deliver your full therapeutic dose in a single infusion over approximately 20 minutes
- Monitor you during and briefly after the infusion to ensure your safety and well-being
- Ensure your privacy, comfort, and peace of mind throughout your visit
The IV infusion takes just around 20 minutes. While you may feel a slight pinch during IV placement, many patients find the process quick and seamless—preferring a single, convenient visit to taking daily iron pills or scheduling multiple infusion appointments.
MONOFERRIC® Possible Side Effects
As with any medication, MONOFERRIC® may cause side effects. Being informed helps you know what to watch for and when to contact your healthcare team. The most commonly reported side effects of MONOFERRIC® are:
- Nausea
- Rash
Other reported reactions include: headache, dizziness, fatigue, abdominal discomfort, muscle or joint pain, changes in blood pressure, flushing, and infusion-site reactions. Low blood phosphate levels may also occur.
Serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, are rare but possible. Tell your healthcare provider immediately if you experience difficulty breathing, swelling, dizziness, itching, rash, chest discomfort, or feeling faint during or after your infusion.
Patients are monitored during treatment and for at least 30 minutes after the infusion. This is not a complete list of possible side effects.
