OMVOH® Infusion Therapy

About OMVOH® Therapy
OMVOH® (mirikizumab-mrkz) is a prescription medicine that targets inflammation happening in your gut; such in the case with people who have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). OMVOH® targets a protien called interleukin-23 (or IL-23 for short). The protein IL-23 is a messenger that tells your immune system to create inflammation in your intestines. Our immune system has this mechanism to protect us from infection; however sometimes our immune system goes into overdive and produces too much of this protein which can attack and damage healthy cells.
The Role OMVOH® plays in managing inflammation
OMVOH® is biologic (made from living cells) and a IL-23 inhibitor, which means it works as a blocker to prevent this protein from sending those inflammatory signals causing your symptoms. This allows your gut to heal and get your sumptoms under control. The key benefit of OMVOH® is that it is very selective; it only blocks this one specific protein pathway, which means it targets the root cause of your inflammation without broadly suppressing your entire immune system.
Condition treated by this therapy
OMVOH® is FDA approved for the following conditions:

Please note that OMVOH® hasn't been studied in people under 18 years old, so we don't know if it's safe or effective for children.
