About PHESGO® Therapy

PHESGO® is a breast cancer treatment designed for people with HER2-positive breast cancer, which means your cancer cells make too much of a protein called HER2 that helps the cancer grow faster. PHESGO® works by blocking this HER2 protein in two different ways at the same time. It combines three medicines into one powerful treatment that's given as a quick 5-minute injection under your skin, saving you hours of time compared to traditional IV treatments. PHESGO® is always used together with chemotherapy which attacks the cancer cells while PHESGO® specifically targets the HER2 protein, making them much more effective together than either treatment would be alone. PHESGO® is a combination cancer medication that contains three active ingredients: pertuzumab, trastuzumab, and hyaluronidase.

PHESGO® is indicated for the following conditions:

  • Early Breast Cancer (EBC)
  • Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC)

PHESGO® is always used in combination with chemotherapy and is not intended to work alone. Working together, they're much more effective than either treatment would be alone.

PHESGO® Price

The cost of prescription medications can vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you're concerned about the price of your medication:

  • Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost alternatives
  • Check with the drug manufacturer about financial assistance programs
  • Explore patient assistance options if you're uninsured or underinsured

Remember, many resources exist to help patients access necessary medications. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're struggling with medication costs. No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Violet Health team.

What to Expect During PHESGO® Therapy

Before your infusion, it is important to drink plenty of water and come to your appointment hydrated. Plan to arrive early with all necessary documentation and for administeration of necessary premedications required prior to treatment.

PHESGO® is given as an injection under the skin in your thighs and is always administered by a healthcare professional.

  1. Your dedicated Infusion nurse will check your vitals and review your medical history to check for improvements or potential side effects of your infusion therapy.
  2. You'll recieve any required premedication 30 minutes before your infusion starts.
  3. After your infusion, your nurse will monitor you to ensure you do not have any complications or reactions to the infusion therapy. Expect to stay 30 minutes after your first dose for close monitoring and 15 minutes after each maintenance dose of PHESGO® for signs of hypersensitivity symptoms or administration-related reactions.

Your first injection takes about 8 minutes, and subsequent injections about 5 minutes. You'll be getting an injection every three weeks.
