About UNLOXCYT™ Infusion Therapy

UNLOXCYT™ (cosibelimab-ipdl) is a biologic immunotherapy known as a PD-L1 blocking antibody, given as an intravenous (IV) infusion. Alongside blocking the PD-L1 pathway, it is designed to engage the immune system through an additional mechanism called antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity.

The usual dose is 1200 mg given every three weeks, infused over about 60 minutes. At Violet Health, our clinical team handles the scheduling, insurance coordination, and monitoring for each visit, so you can focus on your treatment and recovery.

Conditions treated by this therapy

UNLOXCYT™ is FDA-approved for the treatment of adults with metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) or locally advanced cSCC who are not candidates for curative surgery or curative radiation. Your care team may consider this therapy if you are among the following:

Adults with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma that has spread to other parts of the body
Adults with locally advanced cSCC that cannot be cured with surgery
Adults with locally advanced cSCC that cannot be cured with radiation
Patients looking for an immunotherapy option for advanced skin cancer

What to Expect During UNLOXCYT™ Infusion Therapy

When you arrive at our Violet Health location, you'll settle into a private, welcoming space designed with your comfort and peace of mind in mind. Before and during your intravenous infusion, our experienced team will:

Review your current health status and any symptoms you've noticed
Check your vital signs
Place your IV using gentle, practiced technique
Administer your UNLOXCYT™ infusion with our nursing team at your side
Monitor you closely for any infusion-related reactions
Protect your privacy and comfort throughout the visit

Each UNLOXCYT™ infusion takes about 60 minutes, and visits repeat every three weeks for as long as the therapy is working for you. Many patients find the rhythm of these appointments easy to plan around.

UNLOXCYT™ Side Effects

As with any medication, UNLOXCYT™ may cause side effects. Being informed helps you know what to watch for and when to contact your healthcare team. Common Side Effects:

Fatigue
Musculoskeletal pain
Rash
Diarrhea
Low thyroid function (hypothyroidism)
Constipation
Nausea
Headache
Itching
Swelling in the arms or legs
Localized skin infection
Urinary tract infection

Although rare, serious side effects can occur. Please alert our clinical staff or seek medical attention immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:

Immune-mediated pneumonitis (new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, chest pain)
Immune-mediated colitis (severe or persistent diarrhea, blood or mucus in stool, abdominal pain)
Immune-mediated hepatitis (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, severe nausea)
Immune-mediated endocrine problems, including thyroid disorders, adrenal insufficiency, pituitary inflammation, and type 1 diabetes
Immune-mediated nephritis (decreased urine output, blood in urine, swelling)
Severe skin reactions, including blistering or peeling
Infusion-related reactions (chills, flushing, shortness of breath, itching, fever)
Complications of allogeneic stem cell transplant

Pregnancy warning: UNLOXCYT™ can harm an unborn baby. Use effective contraception during treatment and for three months after your last dose, and do not breastfeed during treatment or for three months after your last dose.
