YEZTUGO® Infusion Therapy

About YEZTUGO® Injection Therapy
YEZTUGO® (cabotegravir and rilipivirine) is a complete long-acting HIV treatment regimen that represents a significant advancement in HIV care. Unlike daily oral medications, YEZTUGO® is administered as monthly or every-other-month injections, offering a new level of convenience and freedom for people living with HIV.

Conditions treated by this therapy
Yeztugo® is FDA-approved as a complete regimen for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults who meet specific criteria:
- Have achieved virologic suppression (undetectable viral load) on their current antiretroviral regimen
- Have no history of treatment failure
- Have no known resistance to cabotegravir or rilpivirine

YEZTUGO® Price
The cost of prescription medications can vary depending on your insurance coverage. If you're concerned about the price of your medication:
- Contact your insurance provider to understand your coverage
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist about lower-cost alternatives
- Check with the drug manufacturer about financial assistance programs
- Explore patient assistance options if you're uninsured or underinsured
Remember, many resources exist to help patients access necessary medications. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're struggling with medication costs. No patient should go without necessary treatment due to financial limitations. If you have questions about financial assistance opportunities, contact a member of our Violet Health team.
What to Expect During YEZTUGO® Injection Therapy
Before starting YEZTUGO®, your provider will conduct comprehensive testing including confirmation of viral suppression (undetectable viral load), resistance testing to ensure the medications will be effective and an assessment of your medical history and any contradictions.
After an oral lead-in YEZTUGO® injections are given twice as an initiation dose with one last day of an oral lead-in. Then either a monthly dosing schedule or an every-other-month dosing schedule will be chosen for your treatment as indicated by your provider. Injections take only a few minutes.
After your appointment you can resume normal activities immediately.
